Virginia Williams receives basketball passes from Dr. Henderson
LEXINGTON, Miss. – More than six hundred Holmes County residents turned out to meet their children’s school principal at an event held at Holmes County Central High School on July 26. All of the principals—some of whom were newly assigned to their schools—were present to speak to parents and students and socialize over a community fish dinner.
For three parents, just showing up made them winners. Door prizes were given for attendance at the event, including a 55” flat-screen TV, tickets to Family Fun Night movie events, and season passes to football and basketball games.
Charles Washington was the recipient of the season passes to HCCHS Jaguar home games. He told Superintendent, Dr. James L. Henderson, “Thank you very much for these football passes for my grandchildren and me. We really appreciate the work you’re doing in the district and we look forward to using our passes!”
When Natalia Winters and her daughter from Durant Elementary received the 55” television, she said “I’m blessed. Thank you very much.”
Virginia Williams, mother of three HCCSD students was happy to receive season passes to Jaguar basketball home games for her family. She said, “I don’t know that much about basketball, but I enjoy going to games with my family and spending the time together. The whole family will go to the games.”
The prizes were subsidized by district partner SAMAC; CEO Shannon Greer is pictured with Ms. Winters at the awarding of the flat-screen TV.
