It’s That Time! to make a choice: College Fair 2019
LEXINGTON, Miss. – Holmes County Consolidated School District (HCCSD) held a College Fair, October 4, 2019, at Holmes County Central High School Gymnasium, 9479 Brozville Road, Lexington, MS 39095. Several Mississippi universities and military branches sent representatives to speak to students about their plans. Coordinated by HCCSD’s College and Career Readiness staff, the fair was designed for 2020 graduating juniors and seniors. The district has a number of juniors who have already achieved the requirements for graduation. Senior Jatoni Donelson said, “I plan on attending Mississippi or Ole Miss because of their good Pre-Med program so that I can go to medical school and become a plastic surgeon.” Jalisa Meeks, also a senior, still has not made up her mind between the University of Southern Mississippi and Mississippi State, but knows that she wants to major in Accounting. “We are extremely proud of our pending graduates,” said Superintendent of Schools James L. Henderson, Ed.D. “They have worked very hard to achieve this great milestone in their life, and we want them to avail themselves to as many college and career opportunities as possible.” Recruiters and representatives from the following organizations were present: Mississippi State University, University of Mississippi, Jackson State University, Alcorn State, Delta State University, Mississippi Valley State University, Holmes Community College, University of Southern Mississippi, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, and many more.
