Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers
The 21st Century Community Learning Centers program supports the creation of community learning centers that provide a safe and structured support system and will serve as a pathway to closing the academic achievement gap for students' grades K-8.
The 21st Century program is funded through a grant from the Mississippi Department of
Education and will be no cost to you.
The 21st Century program also provides the following opportunities for students to:

Improve regular school day attendance and behaviors

Create new friendships and learn relationship building and communication skills
-
Strengthen relationships between students and staff
-
Learn in a small group setting and have fun in a safe space
-
Attend field trips during summer camp programming
The goals for the 21st Century After-School Tutoring Program are:
-
Students who participate in the program will meet or exceed state and local academic achievement standards in reading and math.

Students who participate in the program will improve their school attendance and behavior in school.
-
Students who participate in the program will demonstrate additional positive educational, social, and behavioral changes.
The Holmes County Consolidated School District's 21st Century Community Learning Centers students are offered the following activities/resources:

Small group tutoring activities that are aligned with state academic standards.

Rigorous coursework from certified teachers and highly qualified paraprofessionals.

Academic enrichment, online tutoring and other research & evidence-based programs.
-
Math, reading, and science remediation.
-
A free dinner each program day.

Offers students with a broad array of enrichment activities that complement their regular academic programs.

Physical Wellness

Technology Education (E-Sports)

Art (Start with Art Concept)

Community Service Projects.
