Title II, Part A

The purpose of the program is to increase academic achievement by improving teacher, paraprofessional, and principal quality. This program is carried out by increasing the number of highly qualified teachers in classrooms, increasing the effectiveness of teachers, and increasing the number of highly qualified principals and assistant principals in schools by holding LEAs and schools accountable for improvements in student academic achievement. The Clayton County Public School System strives to provide an environment where classroom professionals can hone their skills and grow to be the absolute best educators around.
The purpose of the Title II, Part A grant is:
- to increase student achievement consistent with challenging State academic standards
- to improve the quality and effectiveness of teachers and principals
- to increase the number of teachers and principals who are effective in improving student academic achievement in schools, and
- to improve low-income and minority students' greater access to effective teachers and principals
